The G506 was a single-axle, 1.5-ton, and the G508 (aka CCKW) was a tandem axle, 2.5-ton. Both GMC and Chevrolet versions exist.
6 cylinder, OHV, with 2-speed transfer.
They are essentially the same truck, except for axle/weight feature. Over 500,000 were made for WW2, and many nice restored examples are to be found in Europe.
