Will you buy a $4 dollar "cresent" wrench from the foreign bin or a $24 dollar wrench from the domestic bin?
This continues to be the everyday choice for people and they are choosing the cheaper one which is why our trade defeceit continues to worsen. This along with stupid decisions by our elected leaders has brought the national debt to truly staggering figures.
Now our high tech jobs are being exported as well thanks to the global communications network. Our once sacred American companies have evolved into multinationals with no allegance to the United States.
So what does this all mean? The rich will get richer, the poor will remain poor, and the middle class will diminish. Goods AND services once assumed to be American will no longer be provided by the United States.
I called up on the telephone last week for support with a computer question. I asked the lady where she was and she said India. It was 2:00 AM her time.
My company just informed me that all future techical jobs will be provided by Pakistan, India, and Eastern Europe. As American jobs end by attrition, they will not be replaced using American labor. Sad day for America. This is EDS, Electronic Data Systems, the company founded by Ross Peroit. The policy is code named "Best Shore" if anyone is interested.
The America we are giving to our kids is worse than the America that was given to us. I feel like I have let them down.
