I've got a '66 W300 w/ 5.86:1 in the Dana 70's. I want to install a NP203 gear box backwards to get a .5:1 overdrive, rather than using it for a 2:1 doubler. I'll replace the shaft between the NP435 & NP201 with the NP203 gear box. I've got a GM NP203 box with the 27 spline hole on one end and a shaft on the other end with unknown spline count. Any suggestions on the easiest method to adapt yokes w/ u-joints?
Or should I just crawl back into the peyote tent? By the way, a quick internet search, showed that they do this on the Unimogs with stock axles.
Thx for any info
