Well to answer Gordon's question, the body on the back of the 56 Bell PW I just picked up was made by the Thompson Trailer Corp of Pikesville MD.
Thanks to the answers on the 8 Volt question! I have decided to go get a new 6 volt battery for now.
As to the 6 volt vs 12 volt question, this truck has a 8 volt battery, and the generator has a 6 volt tag on it, so I belive this to be an original 6 volt truck.
I will get a picture of the tranny and post it for all to see. I did not look yet to see if it was a NP 420 or not.
Clint, thanks for the update of other ones out there like it! This truck came out of MN, west of the cities, over towards Fargo for others who may have seen this truck.
Does anyone know if any of the other trucks have the same body maker as this one does?
As for the horsepower question, I have posted a picture of the door tag with the rest of the pictures.
