In the rear of the engine there are a couple of drilled oil passages: 1 for the rear cam bearing, the other for the rear main bearing that feed off the main oil passage. The crank has a drilled passage from the main bearing journal to the #6 rod journal. My guess is the one to the main bearing is almost plugged since the main bearing itself hasn't failed. Take off the rear main bearing and rod #6 caps. See if the oil passage is clear. If not clean. But since you have experienced this twice, I would pull the engine and have the block cleaned and force air through each passage to blow out any remaining material and to ensure you have good air volume going through each passage. This will help determine if your still have some blockage. Even after having a 56 Caddy engine hot tanked, one of the main bearing passages was almost plugged with material. So much for non-detergent motor oil!
