Steering Column Removal - 47 WDX

Steering wheel is off. Clamp at steering box is removed. Brackets and collar holding steering column to dash is off. Steering column appears to be a tube (protective cover) on the outside, and a threaded shaft on the inside. How does the inner threaded shaft release from the steering box end?
