I spent many hours setting parking lot light poles with one in 1963. The company I was working for bought it brand new for the job, to use with the power wagon they had, and it was absolutely the most miserable worthless contraption ever invented for setting poles.
It put so much weight on the front end the truck was not steerable on anything other than pavement.
It was also miserable to erect unless you had a tree or pole to rig a block & tackle to so you could lift the damn thing. One of the brilliant engineers in the shop was sure it was self erecting, and snapped the winch cable trying to prove his idea.
