DARPA (the U.S. Dept. of Defense, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) will give $1M to the winner of a race between Los Angeles and Las Vegas using an unmanned ground vehicle. I think a Power Wagon with a large fuel tank and the steering wheel tied off, after pointing it in the right direction, would make the trip in 1st gear, low range all by itself just fine. Let's put together a race team!!
