I rebuilt the original water pump on my 61' poly 318 this winter. I think the place I bought the kit from has one kit left. Probably easier just to buy a rebuilt one from NAPA. I did it for the experience and I knew I could trust THIS water pump not some rebuilt one. If this one could be rebuilt properly I felt I could trust it for another 40+ years.
I must've done an O.K. job. There are NO leaks(silicone in addition to the new gaskets) and the engine temp gauge reads cooler. I'm definitely proud being able to say that I've rebuilt one and did it right!
