if you notice in the pic the outside edges(painted) is higher than the wood. I haden't installed the bed supports yet in this pic.
I assembled the bed then installed the wood. The stainless screws were placed in all the holes and then I put on the supports underneath and tightened everything. All the parts when in perfectly with no tinkering. There was not free shipping at the time I did this and the total cost with the varnish, stainless stuff , shipping and the wood was $1000. I have 10 coats of Bruce Horkey's varnishing kit on the tops and bottoms and sides to protect it. I know it should be black but I like the natural!
