Before i found helitool, i was going to drop a 318 poly into my m37 using the industrial timing cover mounting approach by DAvid on this forum. a few years ago david, i think DAvid is the david sexton who wrote an article in the PWA showing how you could easliy mount a v8 in your dodge truck. the dodge v8s used in trucks and buses used a steel timing cover with holes and a bracket to support the front of the motor in the engine bay. david made a cross bar out of rectangular tubing and suspended the front of the engine this way. I think he fabbed up rear mounts, but i dont remember that part. i forgot about the industrial timing cover until i saw pics of peter hewko's truck. he used the industrial timing cover on a non poly v8 360 to raise and better center the fan on his v8 install. he used ray's kit to mount the engine. either way, the industrial timing cover is a value to someone looking to do a swap with our without rays kit. i bought one, shot blasted it, installed a new seal and never used it. bought a fully assembled engine and did not want to take it apart. i am now finished with my heliool installation and am sure that i wont get to tearing the truck apart to install this cover. i'd sell it for $175 including the angle brackets and engine mounting arms that came with it from the donor truck. with ray closing down for a while, it might be a good way to move your project along.
thanks,
