Sandblasting by the way of a pressure washer

A few weeks back some one posted pictures of a cab that they had stripped the paint off of by using a pressure washer with an attachment which siphons sand. My question, how did you prepare the now wet bare metal for painting in a way that would prevent rust from returning later?
