Girlfriend says I have too many projects and need to finish one before I get another so I have to let this one go (She's right and yes shes worth it as when she smiles it just makes the world ok which is more than any car would ever do).
Here is the original ebay description...
For Sale – 1978 D-200 with 440 power, and 727 transmission.
This truck is a great worker, loves to get dirty, and enjoys towing a load.
The truck is in great mechanical shape, it has a dealer replacement engine, that is 5 years old, and 727 is 2 years old. The rest of the truck just turned over 113K (I bought the truck 18 months ago, at 109K), and has had new front rotors, and calipers installed, new rear drums, and all brakes have been replaced. A recent master/booster replacement. The front steering components are all well lubed, and tight (no front end shaking on this one).
The newest additions are a recent cam change (low rpm, high torque) new lifters, timing set (all steel), new water pump, belts, hoses, alternator, and battery. Also a new 3-core radiator.
The tires are good, the exhaust is new from the Y pipe back, and is 3” aluminized. There is a AM/FM/CD in dash for your listening pleasure, hooked up to a pair of 3 way 6X9’s and a 250 watt amp. It also includes everything you need to install your CB, includes a PA speaker up front, and a set of dual antenna leads to the mirror mounts. And power wire hookup! Just plug it in and go!
There are front and rear 2” receiver hitches on the truck, why on the front you say? Well if you don’t have the 4 wheel steering, and need to get a trailer into a tight location, this front hitch is a dream come true.
The front push bumper comes in handy when you find a stuck lock on that pasture fence! Or an annoying person on the road in front of you. And it also works great when getting to the engine, there is a nice 10” step to stand on, that gets you right up to the action.
Quite possible the best accessory on this truck is the horn; it is a musical air horn that plays “Dixie” (Just like the Duke Boy’s!!!!)
Now you probably wont want to take this truck out for a night of fine dining, and dancing with your lady (although you could, but the valet might look at you funny as you hand him the keys), But if you want to haul feed to the cattle, pick up hay in the field, or take the race car to the track this truck is the one for you!
The pictures don’t show it, but there is a hole in the floor of the box, no not from rust, but from an angry exhaust pipe that dropped, and caught a crack in the pavement. Shot the thing straight up through the floor like a missile! It will require a handy person with a welder to fashion a patch, or leave it as it is, and you wont have to worry about water in the bed when it rains.
The 440 runs, and the 727 shifts without a flaw. there is an Edelbrock 750 carb, and CH4B intake to get the torque going.
The rear is a DANA 60 with a sure-grip, and 3.54 gears with a fresh fluid change. Also has new U-Joints.
This is a real Big Block truck, Not a piece together, and a 3/4 ton to boot.
This is a Factory AC truck, but the AC is currently off. Should the winning bidder wish, I will include the Rebuilt AC compressor, and removed hoses.
If you want to fly in and drive it home, I would have no reservations in the abilities of the truck.
$2000 is the price including free delivery anywhere between Nebraska and Mississippi or anywhere in the Southeast. Will e-mail more pics upon request
