Wear gloves, get a helper to ride the clutch, a small ball peen to tap the line together after it coils around each time. Connect the cable to a light load and slowly bring it in. Pause and Tap the line over if it starts laying away from the previous line. It should lay into the next groove on the second layer, carefully control it to prevent the crossing of a line. (he's right it weakens it) If the cable is kinked or frayed, don't bother keeping it, MURPHY says it will fail catastrophically right when you need it most. A light load could be the riding lawn mower, a large tree section dragged in, light car in neutral on a flat field. DON'T place a large load on it while your winding in standing beside it, you may regret it. Also don't reach into the cable while it's realing, STOP winding then tap it in. A loose piece of clothing or your hand can wind right around the drum just as easily as cable, and the MU-2 could care less which it winds. I saw somewhere someone had made an angleiron guide he could bolt on the starter crank support plate and guide the cable back and forth as he wound it in. Smart idea, respect the power in the Power Wagon. Regards Winget
