Have a 70' W-300 with the 383 in it yes it does burn some gas low teens, but have had chevy 1/2 ton with 350's that didn't get any better milage and weren't half the truck the Dodge is. The Dodge also has a much lower gear ratio than the chevy, and with the Dodge empty or loaded it still gets about the same, the 383 just has the horsepower, so the motor doesn't have to work so hard. Was told that the 383 was not built in a special truck version like the 318 because it was such a good motor. This truck is for sale if your W-200 deal doesn't work out. Bill
