225 slant six performance parts

I have a friend who owns a Dodge Ram with a slant six and this thing doesn't have enough power to pull the skin off of a banana. I understand why the Chrysler Corporation built the engine on a slant because it didn't have enough power to push the pistons straight up.
I remember years ago when there were a lot of these engines on the road a person could get intake manifolds, exhaust headers and even camshafts for this engines, but after a trip to the local performance shop they informed use that nobody makes parts for these engines anymore. Does anyone know if this is true? or does anyone have some performance parts for a slant six that they want to sell? Any guidance on this would be great.
