Steering Question

Greetings,

I am an owner of a '87 Dodge 4x4. It was my fathers truck first, then me and then my son drove it for a while. Now my 16 year old daughter wants to drive it.

It has power steering but there is a lot of play in the steering columb even before it gets to the power steering box. There appears to be a "ball and socket" type of connection that is a link between the steering columb and the power steering box. I think this is where all the "play" is coming from.

Has anyone seen this before and can the "ball and socket" be replaced. If so where do I find one.
