It's becoming more popular all the time. I had some of my WC-53 blasted with baking soda. The metal is as smooth as the 1st day it was welded together to form the truck. The process leaves a little residual soda on the metal so and acts as a dielectric to prevent future surface rust so you have abit more time to paint. I've seen a demonstration where the paint was removed from an empty Coke can. Didn't damage the metal in the can but took all the paint. It's not a real good idea to use it for aluminum. The heat generated during the process changes the Ph of the aluminum and makes it more susceptible to corrosion. Oh, it's expensive too.
