My freind Larry never got rid of the '47 WDX. I posted and tried to sell it, but no bites! Bummer.... Well anyhow, for the last several months every time I talked to him,I would 'causually' ask him if he still had the Power Wagon and if it was OK. His answer was always "I still got it, when do you want it?" I have been telling him, to get rid of the darn thing, and hope it goes somewhere I never see or hear of it again. He keeps telling me, it has my name on it. Well....This weekend, I went up north to see Larry. He got married this last Saturday and a friend of mine and I went up for the weekend to help with the wedding etc. On Saturday Morning, Larry wanted me to go to the farm he works a few miles away and grab a few things he had stored down there for the wedding. Well I went down there, loaded up the stuff and decided to take a glance at the '47 WDX Power Wagon. I looked it over again, and turned the engine over. The truck had my name wrote all over it........ Well I drove back to Larrys house deep in thought almost agonizing over it. I walked in the door and before he could speak, I asked him how soon could he bring the Power Wagon down, and if he still wanted my '60 F-600 grain dump truck. We made a deal that I get free trucking for the Power Wagon, He takes a few hundered off the price of the Power wagon for the FOrd F-600 grain truck. So, this time I am gonna for shure get that Power Wagon! NO backing out this time! Over the last couple months, I have gotten finances straightend around somewhat and have been doing lots of side work that has helped....So, I can afford to buy a toy for a change! I cant wait till the P.W. Comes home. I really need a stout truck to use around the place and it will be well used untill It is time for restoration.
Does anybody know if there is a cure for constantly bringing home junk? In the last couple weeks, I FINALLY got my Diesel, or shall I say 2 of them. I recently picked up 2 running Ford Diesel 4X4 pickups, one is a '87 with a 6.9, the other a '88 with a 7.3. They are parts trucks with good engines. I bought then dirt cheap. I only got them because of the IHC engines. One engine will go in what is going to be my future dump truck, the other??? maybe a M-37???
I think I better find me a good woman and get married. That should probably put a stop to this disease! Were there any decent eligable young single girls at the P.W. Rally?
