At one time, high pressure fog was considered state of the art firefighting. The low volume, high pressure generated by these piston pumps created a very fine mist that rapidly absorbed heat. They were, however, limited in water volume, so were not good for relay pumping etc. A good Bean pump could bring $500 - $1000 if someone was restoring an old high pressure fire truck. Most modern trucks use centrifugal pumps.
