My old oil pump appeared to be ok. It gave me almost 50 psi when cold but would drop when the oil got good and warm. I knew my bearings were new so that was not the problem. When I changed the pump to a new one it went up to 55 cold and kept it at 42-45psi when good and warm instead of around 30psi. Now normal temps it stays around 50+ all the time at high idle (1,000rpms) and 42-45psi at 750rpms. So if you are having problems with oil presure you might just want to change the pump out. It could be a $50.00 fix to solve it. I also noticed the temp of the engine drop about 5 degs also. This is for the newbies tweeking there engines like me. Mark H.
