Here are some random thoughts about being a businessman: Please delete now if you are not interested.
Since his hubs are less expensive, buy them from him. That was simple, wasn't it?
I am a dealer of Selectro and other products. That means, simply, that I have a legal relationship with the manufacturer. I can supply new hubs, parts, technical advice, specs., drawings, a no-BS return policy, and an up-to-date inventory of over 20 products (in the case of the hubs alone).
I have advertising, employee, telephone and rental expenses. As a businessman, I have other overhead, including that all-important "Product Liability Insurance" on every product that I sell. When a product fails at 60 MPH, and the children of the brain surgeon get thrown from the Dodge and squished by a bus, guess who is going to get sued? That's right, the guy who sold the hubs.
My prices reflect a discount off list that is comfortable for me and my repeat customers.
I mean no disrepect to anyone wanting to make a buck. I just make mine the old-fashioned way: cautiously.
Flame away.
