I believe the grounds of the Old Threshers is open year round, lots of heavy iron to see.

There is a large community of Amish and Old order Mennonites at Kalona Iowa, the town has a weekly horse and mule auction, something you won't often see.

South of there along the old Morman Trail are some old towns, stagecoach era inns and more Amish.
