This is incorrect:

"Cylinder volume (displacement) =3.1416 x bore x bore x stroke"

It is actually the radius squared. eg. for a 225 slant six ( bore = 3.40", stroke = 4.125"). 1.70 * 1.70 * 3.1415926 * 4.125 * 6 = 224.7
