I generally agree with Clint's advice. But I would point out some advantages of the M-37. They are cheaper and usually in much better condition and the parts situation is good. They share most of the characteristics Clint lists as advantages that PWs have over WWII trucks. M-37s have a tighter turning radius which may or may not be important to you. They are available with winches, you can mount plows, they have 2 speed transfer cases etc.
