There is a pushrod adjustment that you can make. If adjusted too far off, you waste pedal travel, just engaging the master cylinder. If adjusted too far in, you risk causing a pressure lock, by not allowing the piston in the master sufficient travel to clear the relief port in the resevoir.
The master cylinder component is female threads which engage the male threaded rod from your brake pedal assembly. It's pretty obvious if you get underneath and take a look.
Adjust to where there is just .015-.030" clearance before engaging the master cylinder piston. You can't measure this...it's just a feel thing. Good luck.
