From a friend of mine's Dodge truck site about Never throwing anything away. His writting style is pretty clever!...
"Never Throw Anything Away
Never, ever, throw anything away. Old brittle rubber part? - save it! Rusty transmission pan that is full of holes? save it! Save everything. But don't get the wrong idea - you'll likely never use these parts again. But how can you be sure? You can't, and there is nothing as tortuous as needing some little rusty do-dad that you "just threw away yesterday." Plus, imagine how many times you could manage to work the phrase "I have a pretty nice collection of spare parts" into swap-meet conversations.
I have found that the best place to store these valuable parts is the small shed that is more commonly used to house a lawn mower and other tools used around the house. As the collection grows, the lawn mower will do just fine in the back yard with a blue tarp draped over it. Lawn mowers are built to take the elements - 50 year old rubber parts are not.
If you do not have a shed, I am sure that the garage will also perform the same function. Your wife's new car was built to withstand the elements - 50 year old rusty parts were not."
