Anyone had there hood drop closed on the paint?

I was working on my engine reached to get something and the hood slipped past the catch and messed up my paint! Solved that from happening again. I drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the brackets on the cowl and when it is up I slip a 1/4 inch bolt in the hole that way if it slips again the bolt stops it from droping. Wish I had done it earlier now I have to touch up the paint! Mark H.
