A while back I sold my Cummins diesel powered D250.
The engine was great despite some trouble with the
thermostat and fuel shutoff solenoid. At least it was
all mechanical, no &!# computer. However being 2wd
it was struggle to get a 10k boat and trailer out of
the water on a steep or gravel ramp. So I have been
thinking of getting a WM300 for this task and other
ocaisonal short distance towing (<30 miles).
Am I crazy? Will a good WM300 do 45 mph with a 10k
towed load and also stop before the state line?
Given a positive reponse on that what are the chances
of finding a good/restored WM300? Everything I have
checked out so far is ... uh, well used. While a
restoration project would be fun I have several of
those already waiting in the pole shed.
