: : What is the difference between the MU-2 and LU-2 winch?
: MU-2 has cast gear housing, higher profile, I
: believe capacity is same as LU-2, has cable guides
: LU-2 was just used on military vehicles I believe
: and has a cast aluminum gear housing. I don't think
: that it has cable guides like MU-2
The MU-2 is cast steel/iron and holds 250' of 7/16" cable. It also has a
brake on the drum so the cable won't unwind prematurely.
The LU-2 is cast aluminum, the drum holds 150 ' of 7/16" cable and there is
no brake on the drum so it can free wheel. MU-2 is the preferred set up.
