: Gentlemen!! I own a number of dodge trucks in various states of disrepair.
: 1946 1/2 ton
: 5, 46-57 Power Wagons
: 3, 1946 2 1/2 tons
: Non of them run except the 2 1/2 ton,and it burns a lot of fuel!
: I believe in keeping things original, or changing things in such a way as they can be returned to original.
: What I am intrested to find is a place to locate the necessary parts to convert my 251 Industrial 6 to propane.
: I live in Vancouver,B.C.,Canada. But, i'll be spending the summer in Sparwood which is near the BC alberta, Montana
: border. So Spokane may be a possibilty in terms of a place to pick up the necessary pieces.
: Any suggestions would be gratfully received, Thanks pete
My dad was a farmer and he used a lot of equipment on propane,
and I had a 47 IH 1/2 ton that I converted to propane using a carbeurator from an old LA Case tractor.
I had to modify the mounting holes, but other than that It is as easy as pie.
just find a carb and vaporizor/regulator assy. from an old 1940's or 50's tractor (all the carbs and regs. are usually the same)...
