the guy at the parts house is right , you have to grind down the O.D. to fit ,dose i.d. fit ??
: recently bought a civilian 63 pw w200 it has a (1965 polysphere head 318) in it. am restoring the truck, working on the clutch right about now and realized after pulling the 3-speed trans off it that there was no pilot bushing in the end of the crank,,,,wow, maybe thats why the old beast shook so bad when i brought it home from the people i bought it from. i went to buy a bushing from the parts house,,,,, but,,,, it does not fit, its too big the parts guy said, and i quote! "hey man its cut and dry, they show only one size bushing in my book, its the same bushing from 1948 to 1979 i'll hold it for you " others have said that this 318 used to have a auto trans on it and chrysler bore the hole diffrent for standard and auto transmissions???? any help in finding the proper pilot bushing for this engine would be great
