: I would like to talk to someone that has done or owns a powerwagon with a Hercules Diesel repower kit. What problems have the encountered with the installation and how do you like the finished product. What about noise levels? Thanks for the help!
Hi Todd,
I hope you are still a fan of the old Dodges...
I've had mine since '72, and since '76 with a Detroit Diesel 3-53N motor backed up with a Spicer 3053A five-speed overdrive. The Spicer is that from a M35A2 2-1/2 ton military, and is easy to find. I know this combo can beat the Hercules in price 2:1, and in a contest will out climb, out pull, and out run the Herc. It also makes enough noise for an entire convoy, and the three-gallon oil pan is there cause a quart in a thousand is doing really good. But I digress. If you will, e-mail me back and let's see what is new. DG
