: OK, so I'm not an engineer but heres a simple question.
: I have a pair of 12VDC permanent magnet blower motors that I am using in a
: heater assembly. The original 24v motors had some capacitors attached to them.
: If I remember rightly they are to make sure the motor starts turning in the right direction when turned on.
: Is this so? and are they needed in the 12VDC system?

The caps are to eliminate noise in the electrical system. The motor brushes in the heater motor create static noise. All DC brush type motors do.
This would have caused static or a whining noise on the military radios. The caps don't control starting direction. Yes, you can remove them. The motors will run just fine.
