Message:   It's always better to save a part if you can. That way someone else can still use the part you would have used up. They don't make tailgates anymore.

That is... if you cut out all the rust and weld in new sheet. It's a lot of work but you can take your time because the tailgate is not needed to drive and use the truck. Just remove the tailgate.

If you don't have a welder and a cutter you can always take it to a shop to have the cutting and welding done then bring it back to your place to finish it. Again, you can still use the truck in the meantime.

I do have the correct tailgate for your truck and if yours is deemed to far gone I can work something out for you. I'm in Los Angeles and it would be shipped from here. Hopefully you're fired up to fix yours!!
