Message:		the 69 and later truck often used a electric oil gauge, these also run off the power supply from the fuel gauge that is limited voltage to pulse 0 to 6v and operate the same way as the temp sender/temp guage. If this gauge is hooked to 12v it will peg and burn out if left long enough (as will the temp gauge, or the fuel gauge if the built in limiter is bad (parts house books call the limiter a regulator but the limiter in this case really limits voltage instead of acting like a alt/gen regulator which tells the alt or gen to very output)). All of the 68 and back used a man gauge that runs off the tube from the sender point on the engine; this gauge was optional on the 69 up trucks (assuming you choose to have a gauge at all instead of the light).
