Message:   I ran into the same thing servicing our Durango. It takes +4 while the Ram is a bit older and takes +3 which you can find at the auto parts. I bought the filter at a wholesale trans parts/repair shop I have dealt with for a # of years. When I complained/asked about it they said just use Dexron and add a bottle of Lubeguard. They claimed it makes Dexron chemically the same as +4. Not sure I buy that since they don't have to fight with the stealer if you have warranty trouble but I used it anyway being the cheap guy I am and HATE spending ridiculous amounts at the stealer.

I actually have not had trouble with our local dealers just a lot of $$ for a quart of trans fluid and some other parts that are dealer only.
