I've not had good thoughts for the carter pumps on the Cummins whether it was on the block or somewhere else. I had one on a gas rig back in the early 70's. At the tank and it did not last worth a hoot then either. I think they are either a poor design or poorly built. Not sure which.

Not sure how the 7/100,000 mile warranty interfaces with the Cummins one. If you read my warranty book and figure out what it REALLY says mine was good for 8 years and 136,000 miles. At least the 99-01 warranty books read that way and I think even the current ones do. Most including myself did not realize that until somebody read and understood what the book really stated and then called Chrylser on it. He won and I have seen the check from Chrysler posted on the DTR. Others have since done the same.
