Message:   I have an '01 and have not had anywhere near that # of problems. I did replace the track bar and it needs it again. The lift pump got weak and I replaced it with a Walbro.

The injection pump was replaced when I had a hard start issue due to a cracked cam position sensor. I am pretty sure it was not bad. I hit it off pretty well with the mechanic and I think that is why it got replaced. Since the cps is right behind the VP44 and a real bear to get at without pulling the pump, I think he knew what to say to STAR to get them to authorize a replacement. At least what he wrote on the work order was not exactly what I told him was going on. Made his job a whole lot easier.

Mine is actually dead in the water right now due to a cracked forward drum in the trans. I know that because I pulled it, replaced the drum and drove it about 25 miles or so and it did the same thing again. I have an aftermarket valve body and it apparently has a sticking valve or one of the controlling pressure sensors is sticking and throwing a pressure spike when I put it in reverse. Hopefully get it pulled tomorrow or the next day and replace the drum again, the valve body and sensors and be good to go. The trans has about 130,000 and looked pretty decent inside. I didn't really have the $$$ to build it up right now so we just replaced the broken part the first time. At least I should get pretty good at pulling it.

I have heard of some other guys having a lot of those same problems though. Not sure why a few do and others don't.
