Message:		When I bought my D100 with the Cummins I was concerned about the strength of the rear tranny supporting crossmember. It looked too feeble to hold the weight. Well, I was right. This is what it looked like last Monday just 15,000 miles after it was installed. It is merely 1"x3" tubing with 1/16" wall. This crack goes completely around both sides, the bottom and about 1/2 of the top. I only had 1.5" of metal left holding up the back end of that Cummins. Damn SPOOKY! This is what I fabbed up to replace it. 4" channel iron, 1/4" wall with 3/8" gussets on both sides at the bends. My anxiety level at 90 mph is lower now.
