Message:   Im a member of the IMOA, International Mercury Owners Association. Every year they have a big national gathering with a very respectable turnout. For several years they have met at the Brickyard and as part of the event, the members, as a group, have been able to run a few laps around the track in the Mercs. Pretty cool to see the 57 Pace Cars running the track again. They have a national organization with regional affiliated clubs and publish a high quality quarterly magazine, glossy pages, member's car pics in color, tech articles, classifieds, etc. Similar to the PWA but much higher level and way more pages. Dues is about $40/yr. There is an ad promoting the IMOA every month in the Merc section of Hemmings. I joined when there was less than a hundred mems, now there are hundreds.
Until Swepties step up to the plate and put out the $, time and effort to organize themselves similarly, the hobby will continue to languish. IE, Trey struggles to sell a 100 calendars for a measly $20. Sheesh.
