Message:   I've been wanting to climb under there for a long time and strip everything out except the trucks wiring harness and replace it. Man I took a LOT of garbage out! Whoever did the wiring before, seemed to think that you were supposed to strip a one inch section of wire, wrap the bare end of your other wire around it and wrap that in electrical tape. No wonder why it never worked right! That and the plug itself was all rusted up and needed replacing.

All I have left to do is run a new wire back to the plug (7 round) for the aux trailer power. Where is the best place to tie that into? If I plug it directly onto the battery, if the trailer has a drain on it, it'll kill the battery overnight.

Is there somewhere that will supply power only when the key is turned to the accessery (or on) position?

Also reworked the trailer brakes and installed a horn relay. The horn sounds nicer than it ever did! and i don't even have to rev the motor to get it to honk! Of course, I do have to jump the the wires with a screw driver where the honr button should be.. but thats another issue altogether.

Matt
