Message:   I think one of the problems is the whole "youth marketing" thing that is going on today coupled with the fact that today's youth are almost completely ignorant of the true value of old Mopar iron (with the possible exception of the muscle cars currently commanding ridiculous prices). A perfect example of this occured to me when I stopped my 58 W300 at a tire shop in Clovis,NM to try and get the tires balanced better for the rest of the drive back to TX (a complete waste of time and money, they actually made the wheels vibrate WORSE). I'm standing in the shop watching these guys hem and haw and glue every dang weight they can find onto my wheels, when a young fella who looked about high school age walks up, looks the truck over, and says to me," That's a bad truck, man. Power Wagon, huh? So what is it, a Ford or a Chevy?" ( I did not smack him... but it crossed my mind) I told him, No, it was a Dodge, and he gave me the kind of look that I only expect when I tell someone that, actually, this truck was built by aliens in outer space hundreds of years ago and it just fell to earth yesterday, that's why its missing so much paint-it burned off entering the atmosphere. Just a totally vacant expression as if I had suddenly started speaking a language he had never heard before, then he turned and walked away (the only rewarding part of the entire experience). On the bright side, I have discovered the greatest classic truck magazine in existence, the Power Wagon Advertiser.
