Message:   Have done something close to what your thinking in my shop.Had a guy that wanted a vinyl like top on an old Plymouth.Used what is called rocker schutz made by 3M.Its used on rocker panels as a chip guard.Covered the roof with it and then painted with a satin finish paint.Came out pretty good.Its sprayed with a special gun(Rocker schultz gun),straight from the can it comes out pretty textured but if you thin it down with lacquer thinner it smooths out for a better finish........pat
