Yes we mount a horse from the left, same as y'all do. The queen rides sidesaddle and her horse neck riens same as western style. All my horses are trained and ridden western,As a point of interest the reason for mounting from the left in western or or English riding dates back to Medieval times as it kept your sword hand free for protection assuming everyone was right handed. The custom is also used when walking with a women you would walk on her right again keeping your sword arm free.
