If you recall back in the 60's the shipping weights were never what the vehicle actually weighed. My swinger weighed 3,550 with me in it and shipping weight was about 3,200. Shipping weight on my '64 330 seems like was about 3.300 and weighed 3,650 without me in it and about 1/4 tank of fuel. Admittedly, I am going off memory here as far as shipping weight but you get the idea. I also weighed some less than I do now.

All the weights for rigs like mine I have seen posted on the diesel sites have been over 7,000 lbs. A 2 wheel drive single cab might only go 6,500. Mine went over 7,400 once when I had 2 sets of chains in it and some fishing gear. I think that may have included a canopy also. I am not picking and choosing what to believe. I have had mine on the scale a number of times, different state scales, the exact same ones I have driven over with 18 wheelers. Actually 24 and 30 tires/wheels depending on what I was towing and with what. I know what it weighs so I am not sure where the discrepancy lies either.
