Message:   Gotta agree with you 100%, guys! If they don't dare to be daring they're relegating themselves to dead last. Over the years one thing more than any other has spelled the letters of success for Chrysler Corp: DARING!

The concept of merely competing effectively in a marketplace doesn't make top-of-the-heap WINNERS, only 'also rans'.

Sounds to me like they are continually wrestling with opposing mindsets: build a winning company and take the market by storm, or beef up the asset's and sell. They're rapidly reaching a crossroads and hopefully much of this we read is just clever stage management.

Finessing the other players is a difficult challenge in a marketplace as active as automotive products. Hopefully much of this is simply skillful card play. Could be there's an ace or two stuffed up the corporate sleeve? They still have a chance.

One other thing. Seems possible to me that this mamagement company is suddenly faced with something they've never experienced before corporately: an industry full of emotion from top to bottom. Good possibility that some of these executives are getting infused with that same disease we play in here? Can't quite put it into words, but you now how it is with cars & trucks compared to other 'stuff', it's just indescribably 'diferent'.
