Message:   After a lot of reading and exploring, trying to figure out what to put in my truck, which is overdue for a oil change just because of all the uncertainty...I thought I had made an educated decision and bought Mystic 15-50 diesel oil. 2gal jug for $18.89, not bad. Rated CI-4, but not CJ-4. But it is a synthetic, and in the last oil thread Norm says, "From what I can gather,they are talking about no synthetics for all usage with flat tappets, not just break-in." So what are the alternatives? I've used Castrol 20-50 for many years, but now the only way to continue to use it is to add Comp Cams PN159, at $12.00 a bottle, to every oil change, because no regular oil is suitable for our trucks anymore. Norm, where did you read that about no synthetics in flat tappet engines?
