Message:   I'm not walking around with a black cloud. The truck was junk and many other owners feel the same way. 2 of the 3 Rams I have owned were junk. If it was a lemon, then there are lot of others out there like it that created a flurry of aftermarket fixes. I personally did not experience problems with the new oil simply because I did not run it long enough. However other people had concerns about it. My biggest complaint was increase in cost.
The lift pump problem, Cummins knew about it...did nothing. The track bar, Chrysler knew about it, did nothing. If you want to make the track bar problem go away, get one of these, www.solidsteel.biz I gave him the idea many years ago.
Some have had great luck with these trucks as most did not. Many have accepted these problems as routine maintenance. I spend that kind of money, I expect it to hold up, just like my 86 and 91 did. However I'm not going to win the battle bashing Dodge on a Dodge forum. After working for Chrysler and understanding how things worked, I'm not buying another one. After 20 years of loyal ownership I'm looking to another brand or to a older real Dodge.
Here is a thread about USLD on the TDR, A few didn't notice the difference, but alot did. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/24-valve-engine-transmission-1998-5-2002/193832-ultra-low-sulphur-diesel-mileage.html
