Message:   I think part of the problem is what a Sweptline is. They're a heavy duty hard WORKing truck. The Chevy trucks ride much 'better', if you want a marshmallow ride like a passenger car. The Fords of the era were good solid trucks, but parts are a nightmare because what's in it depends on what MONTH it was built! The Chevy got the most street rod stuff because it was cheapest, more mass-produced and any old junk GM part from almost any GM will bolt right on.

Dodge has been the traditional workhorse truck. GM & Ford both outsold them by a bunch, so less Dodge units to start with. Also they were and are worked very hard because they're so strong, reliable and dependable. I see beater Swepty's all the time, hard at work 40+ years later! Seems to me part of the problem is just what a Dodge Sweptline or most any Dodge truck is: A TRUCK!

The candyass sissies want a rolling marshmallow, full-power assist Chevy Impala with a box on back. GM gave it to them [every time they bend over too]. Fords were some really great trucks, except mechanically complex, more complicated parts to break and less replacement parts.

What I'm trying to say is Dodge means WORK TRUCK to most people so few of them were candidates for real custom stuff or power assist options. Few are interested what an old truck looks like when the main object is the job they want it to do: Dodge does the job!

For the guys that want to 'cool' one out the Dodge truck itself is their own worst enemy! It's a man's truck, and real men don't need power anything! Full power is for sissies. This sissy sure would like power steering on his man's truck....
